School is often far from home, costing a child's energy and a parent's work hours.

How might we enable children aged 7 to 14 to access daily education independently in low density regions, where long commute times to centralized schools result in travel related fatigue.

The system

The commute is guided learning. The destination is a shared classroom.

Under parental oversight, a pod collects a child at home. During transit it runs calm, guided lessons instead of dead time. At a local community hub it docks with other pods arriving from nearby homes, forming a temporary group learning space.

Hive functions as a mobility system and a temporary community based learning space.

Exterior

Shaped like a tetrapod. Stable alone, built to interlock.

Exterior ideation: rejected modular van concepts, tetrapod form inspiration, and pods connecting side by side
Final exterior: form evolution, grid based light for non verbal interaction, free movement between docked pods, and a door that retracts into the body

Calm and tactile, built to be lived in for the length of a ride.
